EMPLOYEE'S SPEAK
My name is Hitesh Patel, and I am working as Manager in the Planning vertical at Pharmalab. I am excited for this opportunity to share about the functioning on one of the important departments at Pharmalab ā Planning. I would like to share in brief my education followed by the roles and responsibilities of the Planning vertical.
I have pursued Bachelor in Engineering (BE) with specialization in Mechanical field from the Government Engineering College, Modasa (Gujarat). In my career expanding 20+ years, my stint at Pharmalab has been for more than a decade. Today, I work towards ensuring smooth operation and overall planning of Pharmlabās production unit in Santej (Gujarat).
As a department, our objective is to optimize the manufacturing process workflow while ensuring maximum productivity. Often, our function starts from an early enquiry stage for providing an estimated delivery timeline to potential customers. Upon receipt of an order, basis our present workload and future projections, we provide major project milestones and delivery timeline for clientās ease. Periodically, we track customerās site conditions to ensure smooth installation and commissioning.
At our factory, we focus on material standardization with optimum inventory level, including minimum order quantity levels to guarantee material availability especially of long lead items. When required, interdepartmental meetings are encouraged with Design, Engineering, Project, Purchase, Production and Quality Control (QC). To minimize project risks, early warnings are provided to the respective teams about critical activities and necessary recovery plans are recommended.
For monitoring project activities, the Planning division utilizes strategic planning tools including bar charts to capture even the micro details. This facilitates identification of critical paths, helps us take necessary preventive measures thereby streamlining our operations. To avoid shortages and surpluses of manpower, resource allocation for different projects and their related activities is done. Internal review meetings are conducted weekly to monitor the status of every project. With all these measures and checks, we prioritize our internal workings to guarantee timely equipment delivery. In addition to this, we pay heed to the voice of our customers which helps us improve our methods and channelize our efforts. All these tools help us achieve hundred percent customer satisfaction. To further empower its employees and maximize their potential, Pharmalab invests in several management and developmental programs.
As part of this initiative, I had an opportunity to attend āThe Total Leaderā leadership programme through Leadership Management International (LMI). The program was constructive in understanding several aspects of employee development and ensuring personal productivity. I feel privileged to be a part of this growing organisation having an atmosphere of friendly work culture. I look forward to contributing to its future development and progress.
