EMPLOYEE'S SPEAK
Secondly, we engineer & design our equipment and systems with up-to-date technology and standards to meet national and international regulatory requirements such as ASME, IBR, CE, FDA, ICH, WHO, HTM, USP, etc. Additionally, we take care of environmental concerns, optimum utilization of materials and easy integration with other control, storage and monitoring systems in our design. Most of our equipment are semi to complete automatic functionally and supplied with most of the features in-built. It takes care of the equipment and operator safety as well as to increases the efficiency, utilization and longevity of equipment.
Equipment used in Pharmaceutical industries are quite different than the other industrial equipment as it has to go through rigorous qualifications. Our key competency in the area of new product development is not just design and build the equipment, but we do complete and thorough validation of the functions, parts, assemblies and equipment performance at our factory and on the field too. In addition to cost, it takes lot of efforts and resources such as manpower, time and energy to carry out successful validation. But at the end it pays, as customer keep our products as āFirst in choiceā while deciding on the equipment. Our product design and development philosophy have a balanced approach towards efficiency vs cost, and this leads us to be the number one in the market.
Our team works on more than dozen major applications and numerous models – starting from simple filtration to challenging aseptic solutions. Our designers spend fifty percent of their time on customised products and features which gives a glimpse of idea on how Pharmalab products are evolved and penetrated over the years.
To brief about out our future thought process, in 21st century the meaning and definition of the products have changed in a greater depth and breadth. Classical methods of engineering such as form, fit and function is what the engineer used to work is now changed to many folds because of the Industry 4.0 revolution. Today, the way in which technology connect to the things have changed, as we hear the buzz words like Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Big data analytics, IoT, Augmented reality, etc. These are bringing physical, digital and biological systems together in a smart and intelligent way. All these vocabularies phrased in a simplified way conveys that the globe is moving towards the āSpeedā, and Automation to Autonomous, conventional manufacturing to 3D printing with the help of laser guided processes and plasma charged nano metal powders.
As a sustained and strong engineering company it is important to gauge the motion of the industry, evolving of technologies to benefit the business by adopting ongoing advanced sensor, digitalization and connecting the things together which would sustain the product and business unit. Just speed is not the only selling attribute but in countries like India, cost matters to a great extent. Now it is the designer and his intuition to balance speed vs cost to make product more viable.
Future is not limited to silo-based approach, there is an enormous thought process going into the pharma industry itself. For example, today, from operation theatre to pharma research centre the data is connected to ease the patience care, i.e. based on the doctor diagnosis the pharmacist formulates the drug. On other hand, emphasis on online analysis is given more instead of lab analysis to eliminate unnecessary sample analysis time and minimize the batch rejection risks or audit remarks. These is possible with the use of sensors and systems that are smart and intelligent to decide the process. In a nutshell, the machine intelligence minimizes human intervention as well as cost for long term business sustainability.
At last, I have shoulder enough at Pharmalab to look after the products to meet fifth and seventh generation product requirements and we have a way forward to transform the existing products to next generation products. Pharmalab experienced five decades of the industry changes and will continue to lead with our products in near future in all respects without any tiny doubt.
